IT System Administrator Contractor

The Company:

We are a leading start-up for IoT and enterprise connection and security. Our multiplatform solution, includes development on iOS, Android, macOS, Linux and Windows desktop on the client side.

On the backend side we offer customers an on premise as well as a cloud solution, and

use high security standards and advanced protocols. We have a good mix of different

technologies like SUSE Linux, WebSphere, DB2, PostgreSQL, relational databases, just to

mention a few.

We are looking for an internal IT Administrator (m/w) in full time as a contractor,

works

The Role:

As an IT administrator, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the company's IT network, servers and security systems. This role is absolutely essential within any organisation to ensure business continuity – if an IT network fails, the impact on the day to day running of the business can be significant, sometimes catastrophic.

To ensure this doesn’t happen, you'll be responsible for investigating and diagnosing network problems, collecting IT usage stats, making recommendations for improving the company's IT systems and carrying out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions.

You are willing to work some out of office hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade nodes in (high) availability customer production clusters.
  • Manage an international 24x7, multi-site production infrastructure powering the Netsnapper services, including deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security.
  • Ensure proper monitoring, alerting, capacity planning and reporting in the production environment.
  • Contribute to the evolving design and architecture of reliable and scalable infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure Operations standards are observed, determine resource impacts for upcoming product deployments, and ensure successful product rollouts.
  • Develop processes, tools, and documentation in support of production operations.
  • Evaluate new software, hardware and infrastructure solutions.

 Experience & Skills

  • Demonstrable substantial experience managing, troubleshooting, and Linux systems, preferred SUSE Linux
  • Experience automating management of systems and applications using Bash and optional Perl, Python.
  • Experience with industry-standard foundation technologies such as DNS, SMTP, DHCP, NTP, LDAP.
  • Experience with virtualization - VMware vSphere, ESX, ESXi, and vCenter.
  • Experience with Storage solutions.
  • Experience with high security environments
  • Experience with Server Hardware.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting systems, preferred Nagios
  • Experience with industry-standard operational practices such as change management, incident management, and working in colocation datacenters.
  • Experience with public cloud providers such as Amazon EC2 or Softlayer
  • Experience in Networking, switches, Firewalls and Routers
  • Experience with Atlassian products like Jira and Confluence.

Implementation & Pre-sales Support Engineer

The Role:

mention a few. We are looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer (m/w) in full time that works

closely with sales, partners and customers in order to

successfully sell and deploy Netsnapper solutions

As a Pre-Sales Engineer you will explain, demonstrate, and promote the Netsnapper product line to potential customers in Europe. You must have the ability to develop a solid understanding of our customer’s operational, web site architecture, security, and technical requirements in order to map that information into a solution that meets their needs.

Responsibilities:

• 1st point of contact for Global technical enquiries - either for technical web demonstrations or on site demos
• Technical solution understanding of company products support for existing and new resellers on projects and proposals
• Product presentations and demonstrations
• Support with technical qualification of sales opportunities
• Provide answers to (technical) questions in a Request for Information(RFI) or a Request for Proposal(RFP)
• Build custom demonstrations
• Deliver Proof Of Concepts(POC)
• Support at external and internal customer facing events
• Create internal software requests and POC implementation plans and monitor the approval process
• Monitor accurate and correct delivery of software sold
• Be able to position and present the companies product offerings
• Compare company product offering at a technical level with competitive products
• Build technical relationship with prospects and existing customers
• Liaise with sales, support and development teams to ensure accurate and timely resolution of technical issues that may arise during the pre-sales process
• Interface with the implementation / project team, articulating customer requirement, to ensure smooth transition from Sale to Delivery
• Work with Product Management to feedback on issues with current products and provide input around new products

Experience & Skills

Customer focused individual - experience of representing companies in both a technical and pre-sales function in face to face or virtual meetings
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Experience in Middleware (WebSphere, Tomcat, Jboss) and Databases (DB2 and PostgreSQL)
• Previous experience in working on delivering solutions in a technical or I.T sector is essential

• Complete competence working in Linux command line environments

• Experience in Networking WAN, LAN and LTE
• Fluency in English, oral and written essential.

• Ability to discuss and demonstrate business benefits and value to a customer of a technical solution.
• Ability to translate technical and business requirements into cost-efficient solutions
• Affinity to both sales and technology
• A team player with the ability to adopt a leadership role where necessary
• Willingness to travel
